Well, here it is. The cover for my collection, due out in early November. What do you think? As I alluded to below, it could yet change. I really wasn’t sure about it at first – an author will have their own ideas, which whilst being considered by the publisher, may not work in reality. But the more I’ve sat with this, the more it’s grown on me. Dark, provocative, in parts salacious, it conjures up much of the collection, particularly the title story. (That’s not to say there aren’t tender and comic tales among them.)Salt have a deserved reputation for producing wonderful covers. Anyway, I’ll let this sit with me some more before deciding. You can leave a comment below, or on the book’s Facebook page. Would you pick it up from a shelve? Read the back? Delve inside?

I like it. It has a good double-take factor, but in a subtle way.
I love the shading of the monochrome, very evocative and I would absolutely take a closer look in a bookstore.
Not too sure about the position of the female though and the fact you can see up her dress! Was that deliberate?
Tom,
I dig the cover. It has a mesmerizing effect. I'd certainly pick the book up and turn it over in my hands in a book store. And I'll get that chance when the book comes out. Can't wait to read your collection!
Blake
I think it suggests something dark, Gothic, shocking, secretive, familiar and a little bit psychotic underneath a burden of normality. Is that what you were hoping for? I "like" it on its facebook page too!
Thanks, eimearryan.
Donna, the image does evoke strongly the title story, so deliberate in that sense.
Cheers, Blake. Hope all well with you.
Damn, A-M, have you read it?!
Cover's fine! When can I place my pre-order?
Thanks, Paul. It's launched in London Oct 20th, available shortly after that. I'll put a link up on here.
